Meet Mellie: A Dedicated Achievement Coach Making a Difference at CT State Gateway

 

Mellie is an Achievement Coach for the Family Economic Security Program here at CT State Gateway, where she has been making a significant impact on students’ lives. She started as a student worker and has been a dedicated member of the CT State Gateway community ever since, working her way up and taking on more responsibility over time. Mellie says she absolutely loves CT State Gateway because of the warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere that is present on campus. She also appreciates the incredible diversity that the campus offers, along with the engaging, vibrant campus events that bring everyone together and create a sense of community.

Mellie also shared how deeply appreciative she is of our Registrar and their team. She mentioned how kind, supportive, and helpful they are towards her, always going above and beyond to assist her in any way they can. Their positive attitude and willingness to help make her work at Gateway even more fulfilling.

When we asked Mellie about how she spent her summer, she mentioned that she had been working all summer long, staying busy with her responsibilities. However, she did manage to carve out some time for herself to attend a couple of concerts. She said she had an absolute blast at these events, enjoying the music, the atmosphere, and the chance to unwind and have fun after a busy few months. It was the perfect way for her to relax and recharge before diving back into her work at Gateway.
